Charges for visits and materials We do not charge for visits or materials which are essential for normal school time activities. However, if students wish to keep items which they have made in lessons, they may need to bring in the ingredients or pay for the finished product. We ask parents to make a voluntary contribution towards the cost of coaches, entrance charges, etc., for school visits. These travel charges and other curriculum "extras" like providing visiting speakers are subsidised from School Fund. No charge is usually made for travel by school teams to sporting fixtures. We arrange a sponsored walk around the school grounds every autumn to raise the money for these subsidies. If school property is damaged we will request a contribution towards the cost of putting the damage right. We also operate a system of small fines for overdue library books. Charges for Peripatetic Music Lessons: There is a charge (currently around £58 per term) for those receiving peripatetic music lessons. The school office will be glad to give you further details if this is likely to be of interest to you. We require a £25 deposit when lessons are started, to insure us against sudden cancellation. The deposit is returned when the child leaves the school, or if the correct notice has been given to us of cancellation. Unfortunately, owing to heavy demand on available space, we cannot guarantee immediately to provide peripatetic tuition for new pupils even if they already play an instrument, but we will do our best to assist you. Remissions: School charges are reduced or waived completely for students entitled to receive free school meals, though we do request that parents make a donation towards peripatetic lessons in these circumstances. Please ask the school office for details if this is likely to affect you. The school's full Charging and Remissions Policy is to be found on the school website under "Extra Pages". |
