The House System

Students are allocated to a school House (Bamford, Heywood, Johnson or Redfern) according to their class when they start at the school. The Houses are named after prominent figures from the history of Uttoxeter. The PE staff appoint Year 8 house captains and Young Leaders annually who encourage effort and participation in sporting events throughout the year, and inter-house sporting fixtures form the basis of Sports Day.

Students gain House Points for good work or effort in any field of the school's activities, and may receive a variety of rewards and badges for achieving targets. This system is an important way in which we recognise and reward good behaviour and academic effort and achievement.
