Thursday 24th June: We all assemble for Michael Rosen to perform in Uttoxeter Market Place at 11am. Emily D. – one of the group of Year 7 students chosen to represent the school on 24th June 2010 described it like this:
“I was really excited when I found out I could go to see Michael Rosen with several other students in our school! As soon as I could I looked up his website on the internet and was really impressed!
On the day we had to walk down into Uttoxeter and I was in awe when I saw the masse3s of other school children there! The different colours of the uniforms belonging to each school created a really colourful, happy and vibrant environment.
Once Michael arrived he began his stories and poems. It was really fascinating watching him perform and he was really funny so nearly everybody there was laughing their socks off! One of his funniest poems was about a potato, where he made us do the actions to the story. It explained how Michael as a child, found out that his dad didn’t know everything!
My morning was very enjoyable and I am very thankful to all those who organised it! I am really happy I got this opportunity!”
Thursday 24th June: PCSOs Sean and Mandy “get caught reading” in Uttoxeter Market Place.
